The Rose Bandit Race Team kicked the 2012 race season off with a bang (or BOOM!! like our soon to have race team bikes!) this past weekend.  Rose Bandit National Team members, Laura Parsons and Elizabeth Morse Hill (locally racing for ZMotion), headed down to the opening Bill Bone Pro Am races in Homestead.  On Saturday Elizabeth took 1st place in the Circuit race with Laura taking 2nd.  The two had repeat finishes in Sunday’s Road Race.  In the Cat 3-4 race, new Rose Bandit Cat 3 racer Lisa Gallagher placed 1st in the Circuit on Saturday and 1st again in Sunday’s Road Race.  What a way to kick off the season!

Also taking place this weekend was the Coconut Cup #5 at Amelia Earheart Park.  Duffy Danish competed in a Mountain Bike Time Trial on Saturday and took the top spot in the Women’s Base category and on Sunday, in the Cross Country race, she placed 2nd.  Rose Bandit Manager Freddy Viera also raced and took 2nd in the Expert 19-29 field.

As always, it was a great weekend to be a Rose Bandit!!!  We had several RB members venture to each location to cheer on teammates and fun was had by all riding to the venues and learning more about racing.
