“Sticky Buns” Ride to Knaus Berry Farm
March 26, 2012 · Rose Bandita · Destination Rides, Knaus Berry Farm, Rose Bandits · 0 CommentsOne of the Rose Bandit’s favorite rides is to Knaus Berry Farm in Homestead, FL. For over 50 years it has been owned and operated by the Knaus Family, selling U-pick strawberries and tomatoes, baked goods, milk shakes and fresh produce.
They are only open from November to April to coincide with the growing season - their strawberry fields are kept in pristine condition.
BUT, it’s the cinnamon rolls or “sticky buns” that they are famous for and its well worth the 50+ miles roundtrip to get us some! First, we have to stand in line (sometimes there are over 40 people waiting at 8:30 in the morning to purchase sticky buns) and get our loot for the ride home.
Then there is the painstaking process of cutting the Sticky Buns up and putting them into plastic bags so that they can fit into our Rose Bandit Tote Bags. Of course, we have to try one or two ourselves because hot right out of the oven buns are the best!
The ride home always seems faster since there are friends and family that we know are waiting for the taste of our delicious delivery.
With April fast approaching, don’t forget to put Knaus Berry Farm on your destination cycling list and get a taste for yourself!!
ps – if you are craving a taste of these cinnamon rolls or “sticky buns”, Knaus Berry can ship you two dozen via their online ordering:)
